On September 15, 2016, in Khartoum, a contract was signed for the rehabilitation of sand filter units and the establishment of an automation and SCADA system for filter operation at the Al-Mogran Water Treatment Plant (WTP) in Khartoum City. The agreement, signed by the Ministry of Infrastructure of Khartoum State and the Khartoum State Water Corporation, follows FIDIC’s terms and conditions for EPC projects.
This modification and renovation will enhance the plant’s capacity from the current 70% to full capacity, reaching up to 100,000 m³/day. It will also significantly improve the quality of the filtered water by implementing a simple, fully automated backwash system.
